With over twenty years’ experience in the communications and marketing industry, I work closely with individuals, companies, and organizations to develop their marketing and communications strategies in both print media and digital media.
Some of my clients include:
- Viveka von Rosen, International Speaker, Author and Founder of Linked into Business
- VIATEC, Victoria’s technology hub that connects people, knowledge and resources to grow and promote the Greater Victoria technology sector
- Social Media Camp, Canada’s biggest social media conference and
- Dominion GovLaw LLP, a full-service law firm that works with all levels of government and public authorities
At the 2016 Social Media Camp I was on a panel on “Social Shaming and Bad Behaviour on Social Media” discussing cyber-bullying, shaming, and other negative behaviours that seem to be running rampant on social media with other experts like Steve Dotto, Barbara Pender and Tara Hunt.
A graduate of the Graphic Design program at Malaspina University-College (now Vancouver Island University), I have seen first-hand the transition from traditional to digital media.
My career began as a self-employed graphic and web designer as Senior Creative at IdeaZone (11 years). When the company was sold in 2011, my love for social media and its interactivity and sense of community inspired me to start my own business.
For me, the key to social media is to make a personal connection. I’ve met amazing people online and many have become friends, and some have even become clients in my graphic design and social media career.
Social media can also be used to help others. Through Erica Ehm’s Yummy Mummy Club I was able to help the Cadbury Bicycle Factory build bicycles for children in Ghana so they can attend school. I am proud to have made an impact on so many lives.
